So, here goes.

Time has come to sell our rather crusty 1989 MK1 Eunos. She’s been in the family for a long time. I originally bought it back in 2002ish, my dad then ran her for a number of years and she finally came back to me to carry on doing a number of road trips around the UK. Over the years we racked up the mileage to 235,689kms.

I had new BC Racing coilovers fitted in 2012 and spent a year or so driving one of the most fun, well sorted little cars I’ve driven. You don’t need loads of power to have fun and spent many an eve blasting around lanes with the roof down. She really did handle so nicely.

She was used as a daily car for a few years prior to it being taken off the road around 2013 and being put into our dry garage. Those years had taken its toll on her with corrosion hitting the usual places, patched up sills etc.

With so many memories with the car the intention was always to restore her to being roadworthy once again but alas that never happened, and if I’m totally honest I don’t have the skills, time or tools to undertake such a job.

Good points.

Early Japanese Eunos 1.6.

Like new Compomotive TH 1580 15” alloys. One has a small mark but all have centre caps.

Goodyear Eagle F1 195/45/15 tyres all round with barely any use.
The wheels were put on the car 18 months ago.

BC Racing BRType Coilovers bought new and fitted by Wheels In Motion with full Geo in 2012. Mileage was 199987kms.

Interior in good condition, just needs a clean. Speakers in headrest, one piece seats.

Some original Japanese service history, service book, manual etc.

Still has the original flare that came with the Eunos.

Stainless exhaust, nice sound and not too loud.

Dry stored for 10 years.

With a charged battery she starts without fail, everytime. She wants to live on!

Bad points

Dry stored for 10 years so not been run properly in that time.

Crusty. Sills have been patched and I’d imagine it will be full of horrors once you start digging.

Rear 3/4’s have corrosion around the arches.

Both front wings have corrosion towards the front.

General corrosion underneath in all the usual places.

Corrosion at the bottom of the drivers side windscreen pillar and also at the top of the passenger side.

Needs a new roof. Works fine but has tear on a seam. Glass rear window.

New V5 requested as can’t find it anywhere. Will keep looking in the meantime.

So, the price.
Wheels/tyres are prob worth £700.
Coilovers cost £700 back in 2012 and have done 18,000 miles.
Then the car itself.

For someone with skill, passion and the tools, it could be the prefect project. I’d really love to see her live on, she deserves it.

I have lots of pictures so happy to send to anyone interested.

Thanks for taking the time to read,
Si
