Clutch Bit Very High

Hi guys sorry if this is in a previous thread


Any way here goes, i bought a mk1 brg tan leather the other day off a local guy, and the clutch bite on it seems to be very high like when the pedal is virtualy all the way released, any ideas, im guessing its the slave cylinder just wanted to know if any body could give me a deffinate answer thanks guys

I would suspect it is down to adjustment.

Ime problems with hydrualic clutches usually show up as the biting point getting close to the floor (nackered master last time I had this), or the pedal getting very light due to leakage at slave cylinder, to the point that it's so light that it won't move the clutch fork.

bleed the clutch ,if still high,slave cylinder,or clutch worn

yea thanks i dont think the clutch is worn, as ive put my foot down in 5th from low speed and theres no slippage, also put it in 5th when stationary with brake applied and let the clutch out and it stalled straight away if it was slipping it wouldnt of stalled immediatly
thanks ill try adjusting the clutch and bleeding the system
if yoiu need a hand i'll pop over to yours with my easy-bleed kit if you want mate?

one of the first jobs i did was swap the slave cylinder.
