Pretty normal slimline rig, slipped into a wallet containing battery's, While a screw on aerial made the set completely self contained and portable. The speaker is in the mic not on the under side, so you can put it down anywhere and still hear it.
They come up as just the radio too. I have spoke of them before. It will probably fit between seat and tunnel. It's about 30mm tall.
CB is great for breaking convoy for a bit and catching up. Even getting message's between convoys or to your destination over a few miles with relative ease. Not just the half mile a pmr446 radio is good for.
I like CB but it's becoming this closed group tool. I even got a new radio(a 90s president jackson) for the 30th anniversary, when I sat on a hill all night in November. It's 446 I convoy with though. I might not know people are coming from 3 miles away, But don't loose them either. It's also easyer for friends to adopt. I can get half a dozen handhelds for the price of one mobile setup. That's 5 friends to talk to. Some might even buy there own. You get the same feel as you do with CB, Just not the range. They remind me to bring them after getting over there initial hesitance.
Course.. Both can be a loner sport. But at a show my nifty ?30 delivered duel band covers the 446 channels and the security and stuards perhaps, Like at donnington where martial's and first aid can often be heard. It's also a torch and fm radio with duel watch for monitoring two things(like a pre arranged channel and radio1)But it's rather geeky... (it's a uv-3r)
