Hi guys. I recently had my cat converter stolen so picked it up yesterday from the garage With a new one fitted. Very cold morning and when i started it, it ran for a couple of seconds before shutting off. Third time i gave it some revs and it ran. I drove home with no problem at all.

This morning it started fine so i went to the gas station. Filled up and drove to work. Again, started and drove fine.

This evening it did the two second start and died twice but third time won’t start at all now. Turns over fine but not catching.

Bit stumped. Any idea what this could be?

Its a mk2.5 2000 1.8 mx5

Id be checking your crank sensor gap. Use a credit card to set it. And your cam sensor if gap good on crank.
Prob unrelated to cat change.
