that makes me sick!

With this scrappage stuff can you buy all the parts and put it back together and then have it re-registered as a kit car or something ?
Thats criminal. I was talking to a bloke in Portsmouth last week who got offered ?2000 scrappage and ?1000 loyalty from Mazda for his Mk2 which needed welding doing. He's now got a spanking Mk3.5 sat on his driveway.

?3000 is more than most standard Mk1's fetch if you sold it on privately.

It's no wonder prime examples like that end up being scrapped with that sort of incentive being waved under peoples noses.

Doesn't make it right though.

I was wondering the very same thing? A ?300.00 reshell from Autolink? No idea about insurance & legal stuff though. I read somewhere there are clemency clauses to save cars like these?
Nice seats.

I think that is the 1st time I've actually seen a tartan gator and wallet in the flesh, missing the matching cap though.
I thought the scrappage scheme meant they were proper scrapped i.e crushed?

We still have all the tartan gubbins for our Glenagles, although the gear gaitor isnt on the car anymore (didnt like it!)

I hate loathe the scrappage scheme, if you are on Facebook check out this group, some sad sights in these scrapyards

No, not always, lots of the scrappage scheme cars end up in the parts yard, tis where I have found lots of late.
Shocking - there's nothing wrong with that car! Mad people! This is why I will pretty much always buy 2nd hand - new cars depreciate too much, and are bland! Simpler the better!

What a shame, what a waste, re`shell would great, even if a lot of work.
Is this not part of fuhrer Gordon's plan? deplete the used car stock in the believe that people will buy new cars instead netting himself 10% new car tax, 17.5% Vat and now the higher rate road tax for new cars.

All the cars are clean too. I would get mine all covered in gutters if I was scrapping mine. Waste of bloody car shampoo, cleaning them all to get scrapped.

Where did that image come from Daddy Cool? Are they all in holding for crappage?
Most of the cars in that photo are worth more than ?2k I really don't get people

Sell the car in the local paper get your money, then the dealer will more than likley give you more than ?2k of list anyway if you don't scrap in your car......... People are just thick as shit.
