Does it do it with the drivers door shut? ANy warning lights on the dash?

 

No warning lights, and yeah it stays on even when the doors shut

 

Seat belt buzzer?

 

Probably this ^^ Guessing it goes off after about 5 seconds?

 

Agree on the belt buzzer. if it drives you mad like it does for everyone else just reach up under the dash and feel for the vibrating buzzer and unplug it...

 

Or just unplug the connector by the seat belt stalk.

 

Thanks a lot thats exactly what it is, didn't realise this car would have that function. Being an auto it also makes that noise when I put it in reverse , Thanks for the advice think I will leave it all connected for now

 

Another question as well, I know its not related but its easier than opening a new topic. I took the ashtray out and at the front near the gear stick it looks like theres a green light? Dose any one know what this is for??

 

You can get different attachments for where the ashtray is. Some have a hole for the light to shine through so you can see your things!!

 

it wouldn't be bright enough to see anything with its just a tiny LED size light :/

 

its not inside the ashtray its on the top edge

 

Yeah I know! Going by every light on the mx5 it obviously doesn't get very dark in Japan lol

At night, it shows the position of the ash tray so you don't put out your cigarette in the shifter boot.
