Collected today my 30th odd MX5. Ive have lost count now of the number Ive had.

Got this one from a fellow nutzer, Ben aka benjomxrs.

As Ben's username suggests its a MK1 1994 Eunos Roadster RS Limited. If Carlsberg had made a limited edition mx5 this would have been it.

As standard it came with carbon recaros, short ratio torsen LSD, bilstien suspension, yellow strust brace, lightened flywheel and the 1.8 engine in a nice blue which sometimes looks green.

As most of you know these often get raided for the nice parts like the wheels, seats, etc so are often incomplete.

Luckily this one is all complete.

Downside is the tinworm has had a go at the rear arches so for me there is a bit of a restoration job to be done.

Here are some photos:

Ben did me a fair price on this so thanks mate as could have got more for it if he had broken it but I think he wiull be glad to see it staying complete being tidied up. I have not driven it yet as my mate drove it home but says it drives great.

Luckily it also has a nice mohair hood, while the seats have been retrimmed in black leather with a realy nice job done.

This wont be getting arches but I think I can turn it back to a mint rs limited for what you would pay for an average rs ltd.

Dont worry though, this tendancy for a limited edition model will not see me joining the OC!

It would be great to see this put back to original condition, just need to get the RS lip spoiler and wing badges! What's that panel behind the seats?
Glad you got it in the end James.

Will look lovely when it is restored. I have a feeling these will be quite sort after in factory spec in a few years.
Thats really nice, I really need those seats!!

Lovely, one of my fave ltd editions. Are you going to get the RS Ltd side skirts for her too??
The Rs is the one model i'd consider selling mine for. Those seats

Well done there, i'm sure once you've got it sorted it'll be another treasure to add to your collection.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

To begin with, once I have some spare cash it will be to get the rear arches properly sorted. Going to probably run with the replacement rear arches and sills you can buy from mx5parts/autolink, etc.

Hopefully I can have a word with Roland and get a replacment RS sticker sorted.

Probably sort a front standard mazda lip out and thats about it.

Also got to sort the rear bearing.

Took it for a drive this evening to collect my girlfriend as it drives very nicely. It feels alot higher up then my other three mx5s while the steering wheel also feels alot bigger.

The thing behind the seats is a windblocker, looks to be a nice quality addition and goes up and down, etc.

As you can see in the photos its not the tidiest mx5 out there bodywise, but would have been a shame to see it broken and with a bit of tidying up properly will be worthwhile saving as its a RS Ltd, IMO.

One of my RS's was missing the RS sticker on the passenger wing so I got a local graphics guy to copy the one on my secound RS.Hopefully he still has it on his computer system.I'll call with him and see if I can get a few of them cut out.

As standard it came with short ratio torsen LSD
Im intrested that does this effect to the top speed? Dunno what 1.8 top speed is, but it seems that 1.6 wont got beyond 133mph.

Thanks everyone for their help and advice.

This car does go against what Id normally do as I normally only buy a fresh import, etc or as kind of ensures the bodywork will be good. However been a shame to see this car broken for parts or sold as a skid car.

Think I will start MX5 Rescue!

Roland/Gareth I will be in touch.

Cheers

James.
i give it a month before it gets arches and awesome wheels.

I was wondering what the blank page on your site was for

I couldnt have asked for it to go to a better home!!

The drive down to Newport services really made me doubt if i was doing the right thing selling her!!

After meeting with James i'm confident he'll do the car justice!

Good luck with the resto job mate... and dont loose my 'luck penny' to drown out the sound of the bearing till it's fixed!

On a different note , I'd like to say a big thanks to James, for being a 'no messing or b*lls*it' type buyer....... hence why i was happy to drive 80+ miles to sell my own car!!!

Now enough of this............ I need to go find me an NB to buy!!!
Thanks Ben. It was a smooth sale and you driving it down to Newport Pagnell made it alot easier. I have been using it a little bit today. It drives very nicely. Going to get a quote in the morning for getting the arches sorted, with a bit of luck.

I still think you should buy the NB Turbo I sent you photos of it. Will be rust free and a nice upgrade power wise on your old RS.

If your ever down in London in the next couple of weeks and its in from Japan maybe worth a look.

On another note my mate Ive known since uni who I sold my old pitcrew last year to popped round today and I ended up going down down to Edenbridge in it and have a few jars in a nice pub. Alls going well till we go back out and he snaps the key in the lock! With no spare key and miles from home Ive just got in and he has had the car recovered to his house near Horsham, Sussex. On top of that he doesnt know where the spare key is!
