You could try the rear arb on the softer setting but I don't think it will help much. I fitted my superpro ones with the rear at the softest and the front at the mid point but the balance wasn't right.

If you look at the proportional change of thickness/diameter in the bars you are moving the balance rearwards compared to stock with both bars on the middle setting, yours is even worse as the Jackson racing front bar isn't much thicker than stock but the rear is;

Front arb stock: 19mm, Jackson racing 22mm = 16% stiffer superpro: 24mm = 26% stiffer

Rear arb stock: 11mm rear (superpro and Jackson racing) 16mm = 45% stiffer

I'm happier now having the standard rear back on.

Cheers guys, I think when the box blows again, I'll have to try a 6 speed which will mean a diff swap, out of interest, what cars come with the 3.6?
The 3.6 Torsen came in 2001 - 2002
The 3.6 Fuji came in 2003 - 2005

(From the Mk2.5 S-VT Sport)

With regard to correct gear teeth to make sure your speedometer reads correctly, I went with the 19 tooth gear to match the 3.6 final drive.

Regarding the racing, you interested in mk1 or mk3?

Head unit looks nice. Hope it lasts for you. I bought a similar one for mine a few years back and it lasted a week before it shat itself. Binned it in the end.

Thanks for the info on the ARB! I'll get around to sorting something out here.. @Mr Wallace

Dom, thank you too, tbh I just need to do more track days, I just haven't done anything in this which is really odd.

Headunit was cheap enough so lets see, does everything I want and it's nice to not be limited to what I can do with it, bluetooth is great.

I added a reverse camera, not that I have trouble parking this but just for something to do and it only cost £7 and took no more than 30 mins to fit! lol Nicely hidden away and comes on when I select reverse.

Cheers!

Can't find the exact one but this looks the same, with a camera too.

Small updates.

Had an issue with soot blowing out from the turbo and a loose housing, after removing the blanket, I found the V band to be loose, quick tighten up of the 10mm, all sorted!

Changed a jubilee on the coolant hose too.

Gave the car it's 6 month oil change, removed the under tray just to check things out under there and all looking nice and dry. Minor misting PAS fluid leak but very minor.

It's that time of year again, not got a thermostat so I've refitted the foil again which seems to do the trick in these colder temps. Will get myself a thermostatic sandwich plate for next oil change I think.

That's it, still looks fairly fresh. Would love to lose the header tank but just read a lot of negative things about doing so..

Thanks, the pics make it look nicer than it is lol

Since doing up the V band, the car really does feel stronger! Spool up is sooner and harder, feels great again!

Quick job, vibration damper on the torsen had come loose, couldnt undo the centre nut so I dremeled the thing off which was annoying.

Davefab rear bar is a god send, makes jacking up so much easier.

Back to a smooth drive train and no rattling, have taken the car over 100mph and no noticable differences so not really sure what it did.

Did you have any vibration before removing this?

I've got bad vibrations above 85mph from the rear that seem to just get worse and worse rather than being harmonic/at a certain frequency.

All high speed testing is done on my drive way... honest.

I did, I first noticed the vibration not long after fitting the last gearbox, I intitally thought it was a gearbox issue or something I had not tightened, after checking everything, I happened to touch the damper and it moved, it was fairly stiff but it still moved. When removing it just now, it was totally free and easy to move.

I had a vibration and a deep rumble noise when going over 60, which only got worse as the speed increased. I also had a strange slipping sound when pulling away, it actually used to feel as if the clutch was slipping although it wasn't.

All gone now the damper has been removed.

Going great, I REALLYYYYYYYYY need to remove that rear ARB, the car is just tooooo twitchy and wants to suddenly snap on cornering, I think it is limiting cornering speed due to the rotation I'm getting so I must get it off and fit the crusty original as a first step.

I am getting the odd rattle when coasting again, aroun 3.5k RPM, it's a metalic rattle which sounds like its from the rear, marbles in a tin is a good way to describe it, I have no idea what it is as nothing is loose and it only happens when I leave the car in gear and let it roll.

Gave the car a full machine polish, come up looking great but it really would benefit from a dent man and a paint job to the top halfs as the lacquer peel is getting worse.

However, it's driving beautifully, I love driving this thing!!

This whole post has been a real roller coaster. I have just joined this forum on the basis of reading this from start to finish. Having owned a standard Eunos Roadster for the last 11 years, (and it will be staying that way), but always interested in what others are doing, if I were to have changed my little car, I would have emulated yours.

What a fantastic looking car, great stance and beautifully looked after. Nothing over the top. Built to do a job and do it well. I'm really pleased you persevered with it after the trouble you had and I have nothing but admiration for anyone who can do this sort of work themselves!

I'm looking forward to your future posts.

And I agree, it's the little things...
