Hi id like to do a full proper service on my 1.8 NC1 5 speed (idk if option pack affects this) with gearbox+diff fluids aswell as all filters, has anyone done this before and can they recommend any parts? Are there any belts or pumps i should change too? is the clutch supposed to be low and quite bitey or should i do that too? Thanks

Yours will be 5 speed so less issues with the gear change but use Redline MT90 or Castrol Trasmax Multivehicle used to be called Syntax Multivehicle for the gearbox, 2 litres needed, not the diff. Use GL5 75W90 in the diff.

The long fan belt has a tensioner that can benefit from being changed.

The clutch take up is low ,there is an adjuster under the dash.

Never allow the engine oil level to go below the Max line.

The cooling overflow bottle cracks and the useless temp gauge give no warning. If it cracks it losses coolant and the engine is toast so just change it, no excuses just do it, around £50. You have been warned!!!!!!!!!

Replace and seal the Scuttle grommets, they fail and let water onto the electrics that then fail. Just do a google search for the procedure.
