Motorsport Electronics ME221 Engine Management System compatible with 2001 - 2005 MX5 (NB) including VVT engines. Reason for sale is it will no longer be used as was planning on supercharging mine but unable to go ahead with installing it due to insurance issues. Will come with RS232 extension...
I have recently got hold of a 1.6 mx5 from 1990 and i'm looking into increasing the power soon. As far as i'm aware the turbo will give higher overall power, but a supercharger will provide much more consistent power at low revs.
From what i have seen, many people prefer the turbo option and...
Firstly to introduce myself, my name is Tim and I have been lurking around this site for over a year now.
I was first introduced to Mx5 ownership in 1997 when I bought my wife a standard Classic Red 1.6 Eunos Roadster. At the time as well as my daily driver (a 1.8 Ford Escort Ghia) I...
Not posted for ages so i thought i'd say hello and remind everyone of our services.
We have become very popular in the MX5 world for mapping but you may not be aware we see all sorts of cars.
We map almost all aftermarket ECUs on our in-house 2WD dyno, just mapping accounts for...
I've been having a look around a lot recently at different FI kits for sale and I've seen a lot of second hand SC kits for Mk1 1.8's.
Does anyone have any idea what compatibility issues I would run into fitting a kit like this on to a Mk2 1.8? Are the engine mounts any different/are any...
1.8 Mini M45 Supercharger Setup from a '94 mk1, £1300 collected from BR1.
Just add management, clutch and air filter. When you see what's included you'll get a lot for your money! This setup on my '94 1.8 yielded 174whp at Skuzzle, with one of the straightest power lines you'll see.
I held onto this as I was planning to get another mx5 but never came to be.

Due to some unexpected financial turmoil involving my house, now ex girlfriend and a few annoying expenses, I am having to clear out my plethora of MK1 MX-5 bits. I also have A Mazdaspeed MS-13 (broken) which I will post up in another thread.
First off, JRSC supercharger parts:
1.6 SC Pulley -...
Only a holding site just now but there's a thread on the OC forum with good pics. Thw kits include cast inlet and outlet pieces which look really good.
Not a clue on price/options but have emailed 'em for more info.
Don't think I've seen this being discussed on here, please ignore if this is a repost.
UK based supplier of Rotrex supercharger kit. This is the first of these I've seen that doesn't come from the US.
It looks like I've ruined at least one piston (see earlier posts), so the engine is officially dead
However, what had started out as frustration and a gnashing of teeth has turned into my usual inspiration and motivation to do something different, and I am enjoying the challenge of working out...
Hi all been looking around for an mx5 project to supercharge but I cant decide between the mk1/eunos or the mk2.5 (not a fan of the mk2). There is a 68,000 mile 1995 mk1 close by and a 2003 mk2.5 with 109,000 miles. Is mileage or age more important here? I much prefer the look of the mk1 but i'm...
Hi all i'm looking at purchasing a mk 2.5 1.8 to replace my very powerful but somehow boring 260bhp cupra r. It seems like supercharging is the way to go for more power without lag, skuzzle reckons you can make 170 at the wheels with an m45 is there anyway I can push it past that? Higher octane...
So after a few years of reading, e-mailing, discussing, committing, back-tracking, considering an N/A build, and all sorts of other prevaricating, I've finally had the M45 conversion on my mk2. In the end I accepted my severe mechanical limitations and called Nick at Skuzzle who advised me what...
I recently took ownership of my third Mx5, a stunning Mk2 Phoenix 1.6, immaculate with FSH and some well chosen upgrades (Rota Grids, coilovers, smoothed paintwork, Racing Beat exhaust, custom roof etc), it really is lovely.
I was all set to buy a second hand Supercharger kit off EBay...
