We’ve had another fantastic year with the MX5 Nutz forum offering you policies that cover all modifications, thank you all so much for contacting us for quotations, and an even bigger thank you to all those that have arranged policies with us.
In 2022 AIB hopes to provide even more...
I recently had a lightweight flywheel fitted on my NC after reading that they can improve acceleration and drivability being a bit more fun to drive being that much more free revving. The consensus on forums among people who had it done was overwhelmingly positive.
I got a 4kg from IL...
I bought a 2004 MK2.5 1.8 Euphonic in March 2018.
I am about to renew its insurance and I'm thinking whether to declare its tailpipe as a mod or not. Although the car came with a file of service bills and records I can't find when it was fitted and what type it is...
These are the most popular companies which are friendly to modifications (including turbos/superchargers) and to younger drivers, or those driving imports.
To get the lowest quote, call one, then get the others to beat it, then go back to the original quoter and start the process again
I'm sure none of you would be silly enough to drive around uninsured.
You can check your car status on the Motor Insurance Database (MID) by clicking here
Any discrepancies should be followed up with your Insurer asap.
Since my Mk1 was originally a 1.6 (Import too), and I've swapped the engine out to a 1.8, will this make a massive difference to insurance?
Or can I register it as a 1.8 through the DVLA, and then when insuring it, it will just be classed as a 1.8, and not a 1.6 changed to a 1.8...
Happy to be part of the club.
Looking to see if anybody can give me some advice on low cost insurers for my MX5 1.6 Eunos V Spec Cabriolet?
Shes an absolute beauty, but just been quoted £2.5k per year. I have no convictions, points etc and thought these beautiful motors are classed...
Just wanted to say a quick thanks to Murray at AIB Insurance who sorted the quote out for my Eunos.
All mods declared including turbo conversion (including changes to exhaust manifold, downpipe, ECU etc), MeisterR's, Elise Seats etc with an agreed value (subject to pictures being send to...
Just wondering if there is such a thing as car trailer/transporter insurance mainly for storage incase it gets pinched by some pikey bastards! and if anyone knows which insurance compainies can offer it?
Pretty bored in work so I just thought i'd throw this question out there and see what I get.
What I'm wondering is that does anyone with similar circumstances as me own or know anyone who has owned an S13 or S14 and knows how much the insurance cost them?
IF I were ever to get rid of my 5 (very doubtful) due to fiancee nagging etc,. What sort of cars can you get that are the same for insurance but still nippy?
I'm only 19 and can just about justify the insurance on my 5.. So nothing could be higher there.
IF I were to change I would love a car...
Trying to find a good MX5 with low milage is starting to become a problem.
Which is the cheapest to insure?
1.6 UK is not an option as its too slow. So what is second cheapest to that?
Being 19 insurance is a problem for me.
Should milage concern me? Seen loads that look...
Just wanted to say a big thank you to Neil and the gang at Greenlight Insurance. Agreed the purchase on Monday, sent PM to Neil on Tuesday night, he contacted me on Wednesday and after a long conversation about MX5's I received a very competitive quote which I agreed on, job done. Picked car up...
Hi everyone! New to the forum, MX-5s and the associated problems...
I've just bought myself my first MX-5 (joint venture with my Dad). A little red Mk2.5 (2002), 1.6l, 60,000 on the clock and lovely condition.
Things were going great until my Dad popped her into the local garage for them to...
