looking good, nice polish work -- but are your wheels a bit pink looking in real life?

Or is it the contrast to the car being "red'er".

Been spending, seems this one is staying.

Set of adjustable KYB shock all round (already have sport springs), new bushes/links for the front ARB, new 1.8 disks and yellowstuff pads to go with a set of 1.8 carrier hangers. So the stopping and bends are sorted, more power next :driving:

I do like the red when its polished up, looks good, the wheels in black will be awesome!!

Just ordered myself some yellowstuff and already upgraded to 1.8 carriers and discs, fingers crossed for some decent stopping power!

Engine swap finally underway, can't wait to jetwash out the empty engine bay, leaky cam cover gasket has made a hell of a mess. All disconnected bar the starter and mounts, may have the new motor in by the weekend

the 1.8 is in, couple of things I have found:
the TPS on a 1.8 & 1.6 auto are the same but have different plugs, so I just took the one off my 1.6 and bolted it to the 1.8 TB.
ICV plug is different, on the lookout for one now.
1.8 & 1.6 water temp senders have different plugs, need to buy a 1.6 sender
1.8 & 1.6 starter motors are the same, just the bracing bracket at the back is different but can be switched from one to another
early 1.8 alternators have the same plugs as the 1.6, no need to swap them over (FM say they need to change, this is wrong)
putting a clean engine in is easier than taking a dirty engine out!

things to do:
fit the 320cc injectors (waiting for seals)
fit the exhaust manifold (waiting for gaskets)
finish the wiring
get new drive belts (given the wrong ones by the shop :wallbash: )

320cc's freshly cleaned & serviced complete with 55 worth of seals from the dealers as the usual parts places are out of stock :wallbash:

Other findings:

it seems the 1.8 & 1.6 throttle cables are different, need a 1.8 one as the 1.6 is too long.

The bonnet stay is different on the 1.6 & 1.8, bending is required!

The brake servo pipe to the inlet manifold is different, you can run the 1.6 one but I grabbed a 1.8 one from the breakers.

The 1.6 coil pack can be made to fit the 1.8 head, you just need some 1" angle, pictures to follow.
