Hi guys I just introduced myself on the newbies section but I've got some free time so I thought I'd start the intended ride/build thread now.
My hello thread is here: http://www.mx5nutz.c...howtopic=108460 should you wish to have a looksee.
Had the car since April and decided there were a few things I wanted to change to make her a bit more manly (as it's a pretty terrible girly colour haha) so I'll detail off my intended plans and show you some pictures along the way, when I remember to take them! :thumb-up:
It's a 1.8 in crystal blue, full service history (even the plugs have been changed every year in the service) and only 53k on the clock when I got it, not bad!
On the way to buying her we drove passed this:
Luckily this wasn't an omen of some kind as apart from a silly radiator pipe split she's been faultless! (The EGR valve pipe? Melted a hole through the rubber coolant pipe and hissed and pissed water everywhere, queue a three hour wait to get a tow home, and a 5 minute fix in the morning, typical!)
This is how I got the car:
My housemate at uni then needed some money as he was going to Creamfields for the weekend, so he sold me these for £230 with all the tyres having done basically no miles whatsoever (may have even been brand new):
All fitted and kinda clean she looks like this:
I'm now currently in the process of fitting some coilovers to make her sit a bit lower, those arches were just too high for my liking haha.
On my list of things to do after this is:
Intake and filter upgrade
New exhaust (haven't decided how far to go with that yet)
Hard top (anyknow know where I can get one that's not a gazillion million pounds?
De-tango
Possibly mod/darken the lights, need to look into the legal side of that
Stubby black aerial (anyone know any good cheap ones?)
And a full service is probably in order!
I'll post more tomorrow If I get time, but for now that's all folks!
