I dunno...the thought of using 195s in my turbo car scares the life outta me...i defo got mine hot and within a lap of Bedford. Ive just rotated front to rear and the fronts are more worn than rear showing the fronts are working.

Shadowraven, my cars in bits and then off for paint on some old rollers..if you wanted to borrow the jr12s with ar1s for a hoon happy for you to try them...they are legal for road use but only just.

That's very kind of you, we are currently in tier 4 here and my car is currently SORN and has 2 sticking brake calipers I was unlikely to find the motivation to fix until the Spring but could likely try and sort something in a few weeks?
I also find the width vs heat thing a bit odd, Nankang recommend the tyres all the way down to cars below 800kg, just adjust the tyre pressures accordingly and drive harder if you are having trouble getting heat into them.

Ive decided im gonna get the ul11s in 15x8 et0 and pair with 205 50 15s ar1s...( that are 215 wide). Coming in at £750. New.
My current set up new would be over a grand i got new second hand...this save weight and makes replacement tyre choice £120 cheaper a change and make the cars 14mm wider than current set up utilising my tubbing works. Bbk in future no problem. I just hope the 205s are as good as 225s..i looked at slicks but £800 for tyres alone..
Ill keep my current set up until after evaluation never got the ul11s weight from vendor. But saving 3kg ea tyre.

Sounds good, let me know how it goes. So the 215 section width on the 205s might not actually translate to a 215 wide contact patch, the section width is just the widest part of the tyre and that may not fall on the contact patch. It's why both section width and tyre size width are reported, and is useful as a guide for fitment.
I'd be interested to see how wide the contact patch is, I'd also like to measure my 195s (reported as 204 wide) to see what they really are.

No need to buy just yet but thats the plan. Ive measured my 225 ar1s and they are 225! I cant fault my current set up...just pushing for better. At Bedford my mate was inching away from every corner til the point after 15 mins he was entering the next corner as i was exiting his last...im gunning for him lol. And that a bmw compact with an m3 lump and btcc slicks. It was the fastest driven car at Bedford that day.

the 225s are listed as having a 225 section width and tread width so that's to be expected.
Yeh pushing for more grip can never hurt, you can always make use of more grip and more brakes I say.

Hmmm, not super light wheels then, but not bad, and really cheap which is something you do want for a track wheel.
I might pull the trigger on the konigs, just waiting on part one of a brake upgrade which got lost in the post before christmas, and about to get massively side tracked with the other car. I am trying to get the distributer to knock the shipping off but so far no joy.
