Lambda Sensors

Does anyone know if you can use a mk2 lambda on a mk1 mx5 ECU? Both are 4 pin plugs so I was hoping the wiring would be the same.
I’ve done the usual search but nothing conclusive, especially with the amount of aftermarket sensors available.

Have a look on mx5 parts website and see if the same part is listed for both.
I think its a fairly generic part which fits various vehicles.

iirc, the 4 wires are live, earth, live, earth.
so thats a live & earth for the heating element & a live & earth / reference signal to the ecu
I think
so can be used in place of the early single-wire on mk1 1.6 engines (mk1 1.8 have the 4 wire iirc?)
I'm sure theres diagrams somewhere, will have a dig in my bookmarks...
