Hi everyone.

 

Yesterday, while my car was parked, someone reversed into it and caused this damage - see pictures below.

 

I've spoken to my insurance and they have deemed it a write off because of the value etc and have offered me a price for the car however I do have a couple of questions I hope you lot can help me with.

 

1. how can I keep my car and stop the insurance company from taking it away for the scrapyard or whatever it is they do with it? 


2. there doesn't appear to be any structural damage, just a knackered front quarter panel and the front bumper is slightly scratched.  What are the best ways to get this fixed? Go to a scrap yard and find a replacement bit and swap it over myself or just take it to a recommended garage to get it sorted - if so please can you recommend somewhere...I'm from Wirral in Merseyside?  Does it look fixable to you?

 

Any advice will be appreciated.

Hi everyone.

 

Today I tried fitting the boot lid lifter from MX5 Parts but I am having a problem when it comes to putting the bolt through the drilled hole in the boot lid hinge.  The 'shaft' or piston part of the lifter is touching the edge/lip of the hinge meaning the bolt can't get through the hole enough to get the nut on.

 

Has anyone else encountered this problem or does anyone have a suggestion?

Hi.

 

My name is Ant.  I've wanted a MX5 for a while and last week I bought one.  Unfortunately I've only managed to drive it home from where I bought it (about a 20 minute drive) and I've had a knee operation so out of action for another week or two but she's parked up (albeit very snugly) in the garage until the sun comes out! 

 

There were a fair few advisories from the latest MOT but the previous owner told me they had been sorted and there is a receipt...still going to get it checked out by a local garage/specialist me thinks.  Recommendations would be good...I live in Great Sutton which is Cheshire but anywhere on the Wirral peninsula would be handy too.  I've been told about SD Repairs Garage in Neston but any other suggestions would be great.
