About Me

Owned Zinn's Diner in Denver, Pa. at one time was ranked 70th in the top 500 restaurants of the U.S. Been a car guy since birth. Foolish as it was my parents were driving a TR3 with the top down in Feb! at a high rate of speed hours before my birth, so I had no choice! Turned 16 in 1974 (not a good car year) and got a Chevy Nova SS Custom Hatchback 350, 4 speed for my first car, after modifying it I bought a 1976 Jeep cj-5 and sunk a pile of money into it. Was published in many 4wd mags in the U.S. & 1 in Italia. Then bought a 1969 BBO AMX restored that and won a boat load of shows and published around the globe. Ertl did a diecast of it. Was on My Classic Car TV Show the 1st season. Gave the car to The AACA Museum in Hershey, Pa. after I wrote 2 books on the design process. Got to meet a lot of AMC/Jeep designers along the way and made a lot of Very Dear Friends. Then I bought my Miata. I saw it on Ebay. It was in Fort Myers, FL. I bought a one way flight ticket, bought the car and drove it back to Pa. myself after seeing a Dear Friend in Miami (the past 2nd in command of AMC Design the late Fred Hudson) and another Dear Friend in Charlotte, NC. The reason I flew to FL. was I wanted red w/tan interior and it was closest I could find. I almost got a Mazdaspeed in TX., but I just like the NA more. 3yrs. ago I want to the eye Doctor and the car was hit by the biggest hail storm Pa. ever had. I'm talking golf ball size and some lemon size!!! I kept on driving it and the engine started to really burn oil. I bought another engine and it will be finished this summer (2018). I plan on a full restoration and doing many mods getting it just the way I want as this will be my Omega (collector) Car. No money to complete the job until S.S.D. comes through. Car now only has a Jackson Racing Header & Air Intake as well as a Borla Exhaust (that I Hate). New engine (not in car yet) is bored to 2.0 by McCully Racing it is ported, polished, balanced and blueprinted with All The Best internal parts. Naturally Aspirated and will be over 200 rwhp!
