Hi guys I've seen a few posts about intakes etc so I thought I'd do a write up of the BMC CDA randall style intake and how I did it. Drop a comment if I've missed something or something isn't clear!

First of all is where I bought the airbox itself:

I bought Type 2 because of the vvt swap but Type 1 can be used for up to 1600cc so its personal preference, you can probably get away with Type 2 for 1.6 engines as well.

If you do it the same way as I do (using the remaining ducting to link the intake pipe to the airbox) you're going to need this as well:

You'll need part number 85-65 for VVT swaps like mine, but I believe the intake hose size for the mk1 1.6 (and maybe the mk1 1.8) is different so you'll have to measure the OD of your throttle body or the ID of the intake hose. Obviously it would be better to fabricate a proper intake pipe out of material more structural than fookin ducting but I'm a bit skint atm lmao, it works fine for a temp job. (The silicone reducer is the blue hose in the later photos)

Since I'm using a standalone ecu (the cause of my aforementioned skintness) I whacked in an IAT sensor from bofi for better flow and more accurate temps:

This is how I mounted the IAT, luckily I have a welder to hand so I could weld a bung in but obviously not everyone has that luxury so you may need to stick with your afm
You're also gonna need an 80mm bulkhead flange, i got mine from here:

Mount it with a bracket (there was a nice bolt hole already there directly underneath where I mounted it which I used) and you're good to go! Jenyooin cold air!
