Inset is £414 on Fleabay, main pic is at halfway page of making my own, genuine Alcantara, cost £33 including sewing machine, main thing is it covers up that expanse of plastic (where the glovebox should be). I won't be taking orders as it takes me a lot of time!wbJRdyS.jpg

Finally got it sorted, the person I entrusted the stitching to didn’t come through so I bought some Faux Alcantara and here’s the end result...

Total cost for material £5 but used less than half of it.

Added red trim stripe. Not sure about on the dash but...

Think it looks almost factory on the doors.

Just re-did, is that even a word? The dash stripe. Added another one seems better ba9d67bc3bf59d6c3c2f4ec5ddf90c2f.jpg

Just spotted this as I'm thinking of doing similar to mine. How durable is the material turning out to be? Is it wearing well?

The stock MX5 NA dash isn’t the nicest thing in the world but it does have the advantage of being totally wipe clean should you sneeze......

Still holding up fine, it seems quite durable and for a fiver and an hour of my time I’ll just replace it with the other half of the material.
