I picked this up a few days ago.

It's a Jap import and looks to have been well looked after. All stock as far as I can see although that will change a little.

It's a 1.8 with 6 speed box.

Could do with a new roof so that is planned for tomorrow and there is a big hole in the dash where the original radio / cd would be so I need to bash in some audio too..

Not sure about the stock ride height but it does clear the edge of the slope leading to the workshop which is a first for me !

That is what I thought but door sticker shows an 'S' in the special edition bit.

I'll get some more pics tomorrow if it's not p***ing down with rain all day,

Checked door sticker and just has an 'S' in the special edition bit.. Didn't manage to get any more pics as it's been grey and a bit wet all day but have got the new roof on it.

Getting a little 'to do' list on this one...

There is no audio in it so that needs dealing with.

Rear tyres getting low (after I may have accidently pressed the throttle a bit hard and spun it & slid it a few times... not on purpose of course officer) but seems an excuse for some new wheels

It is really grubby inside so needs a damn good valet

Thinking the suspension is good but a little softer than I am used to in a 5 so may consider some coilies

Nice looking Five mate, & I love the new wheels. What are those black circles on the rear bumper?

To add to the confusion on its spec, it has a UK rear driverside light cluster. The import ones were symmetrical, i.e. no fog light, although it may have been switched/replaced by the importer or previous owner.

there's no confusion, it's an S. mechanically identical to the RS but with 14" wheels instead of 15". same gearbox, same engine, same diff, same power, just as fast etc

Never knew the S and RS were that closely specced actually! I suppose you dont get the 6pm dials or the 7.5k rev limit though (which is pretty useless anyway!)

What wheels are they? Rota grids?

Yeah what Andy said..... It's a S and has the same 6 speed box and diff etc and the dial set up (redline is 7.5k) and yes rear light has been swapped for a UK one.

Previous owner fitted parking sensors in the rear bumper - done very nicely but I've disconnected them as the beeping is bloody annoying.

It's on Meister R coil overs and Rota Grid alloys now.

Could do.. the blue one on my car is for sale - it's much better than what I need as it's basically brand new. I picked it up after it was in storage for 10 years after being on display at a main dealers. One the correct colour would be handy.
