Missing my Montego blue s special type 2...so bought another project.....

 

looking at 14 fails and 9 advisories....yep welding and more.....car was cheap but needed tobe to as goona need time and money...gonna be my autumn/winter project. 

 

AWAITING CONTENT, but excited,

picked it up on a trailer....

very happy...usual rust in the sill end....1 is pretty bad not sure whats gonna be left once hacked it out..

bilsteins, nardi wheel, yellow brace, bbs wheels, rear strut bar and teardrops all in place...

 

happy but alot of work ahead....engine a bit tappety and massive rocker oil leak too name a few jobs alond with welding...such a nice colour...

ive actually got under it tonight with an led light not to bad....apart from the drivers rear cill...that is absolutely rotten can get my hand in underneath...the front fail is a 20p hole in the side of the chassis rail offside and cant find the ns 1.......the a pillar is surface rust its solid...so ok...lol...jetwash tomoz as been sitting under a tree for 7 months....BUT this has the best handbrake on any mk1 ever....its epic like a normal car ha ha

Mmm never had BBS wheels b4...how do you get to the wheel nuts without breaking the centre cap? There does not seem to be a recess to prise off?

If they're the same as the 15", you need to turn the actual hex nut anticlockwise and they will unlock.

Had a darn good clean today....and a little drive around the cul de sac....defo worth saving...still got the engine undertray....never seen 1 before on the 22 mk1s ive have....and yellow space pod fog lights....not sure on them...
Got a little walkround vid i post later so much easier than image hosting...even though my pb still works....i must be the only 1....
Tempting todo the easy jobs first but its gotta be welding....just having a tidy up n garage so get the ol girl in.
