Is this the cable Phil sends out with his MP62 kits?

I naturally assumed a stock throttle cable from a LHD 5 would fit no?
Anyone tried one?

Cheers

I tried one, and it's too short by about 300mm, as it stands my JRSC install is all done except the throttle! :wallbash:
Does anyone know what car the mentioned part number above is from?

Can't wait to go for a spin!

Cheers

A mate of mine tracked down a new throttle cable for my install and he found one that is perfect, we fitted it yesterday. It has the same ends as the standard cable and has two metal brackets on it that are usually for the firewall but I used them on my cam cover to hold the cable neatly in place, looks like it was that way from the factory!

I don't know the part number but it was from a Mazda B2600 utility. I'll take a pic later to show you what it looks like installed.

Part number: FB44-41-66OC

Modifications required:
There's 2 brackets that are pressed on, these need prising off - easy enough. There's two other bits that need to be removed as well though. The first one is a pressed on 'stop' on the pedal end of the cable that's in the wrong position for a '5. Of course I discovered this AFTER I'd clipped it through the bulkhead so I had to go dicking about to undo the impossible-to-undo clips  For this, you need a workbench, a dremel, a grinding bit and a very fine precision screwdriver. Grind the stop away carefully, making sure you don't cut into the cable, just enough to be able to pry the remains of the stop off with the screwdriver. The other bit is a sleeve at the throttle end, which takes too much of the slack up. Undo all the bits so that you can get a hacksaw to it and cut this bit off, et Voila! One JRSC throttle cable

Price was a little under 40. Part arrived within 3 days, despite Mazda saying it might take 3 weeks.

Part is for a JRSC but also fits an MP62 (though apparently it's a bit tight)

Daz

Daz, I have just done part of this mod, do you have a picture showing the throttle end of the cable so that I can see what sleeve I need to cut off? Thanks.

Just found this thread, I take it this brass bit is the offending stop which I need to remove ?

not sure mine has anything different from the normal one at the throttle end though.

Pic isn't showing so I can't tell you. As I said above, compare the old to the new.
