Hi

I guess I can share story about my Eunos Roadster. It is 1991 Mazdaspeed B-spec and after some talk with Daz I learned that it is stage 1. It has had MS intake (airfilter), still has MS? cams, MS exhaust manifold and catback. Also owner in Japan added mechanical LSD, rollbar and bolts (not correct word, but you get it) for 4 point harnes. UK PO had changed new el cheapo roof, new original clutch after burning Mazdaspeed clutch, lotsa ugly krome, leather seats and "leather interior" that is horrible. Normal Japan goodies, PAS, P/W drives with memory, AC, headrest speakers etc..
I bought it via eBay for dirt cheap, from somewhere near Leeds and we drove it home with my friend. Good 27 hours and 2400km later we where standing at port of Stockholm and missed our all ready paid boat my 10 minutes. Got the next boat and I drove next 4 days (7 days max, without paying tax) to work and back before it started to snowing.

Some where in Germany early in the morning..

Well, I wasnt supposed to ad anything else but harness and proper seats, Cobra Monaco S that I got good deal from friend, old as h*ll, but never used. But you are familiar how these things evolve. I ask´d from a guy at M.net about Fuji ITB set, who just mentioned about it as ot. He was about to start V8 transplant and didnt really need it. After some twisting I gave up my winter holiday and instead got set of ITB´s.

So today I got the original intake off after good fight, its funny how books always mention about "just take intake off" and not telling about that it will take x hours and end up bruised hands :D .. And now ITBs are where tehyr supposed to be, test fitting :)

Pics are shiet, its dark, its iPhone and flashlight.. But better than nuthing.. Klik for bigger pics..

Picking it up sounds like a right adventure!

Were they ever sold in Finland?

Havent got done that much few last days, family takes its toll. Ran after pipe end half day today. Needed new plug for brake booster line. 4th place had what I needed. Being lazy I brought the whole ITB with me, looks on plumming stores salepersons faces where worth of the hassle.
There´s quite little space between firewall and ITB as theres clutch line and wires running, I quess its bit easier to fit in LHD. Exhaust´s side is starting to look empty and nice :)
Great fun and steep learning curve..

New small problem that I didnt see coming. Theres very little space for anything in RHD on intake side, so it looks really thight about fitting FPR. Gotta try to fit it somewhere so wouldn't loose strut brace. But I've heard about strut brace that it doesnt really "do anything" to rigid the car. Also need bit more tubing for brakebooster, has anyone dump'd the original brakebooster pipe that has the backpressure valve and used it without?

Took the carbon can out to make room for FPR, it took good 25 minutes to do in 39°C fever..

Test fitted ITBs and there is nearly zero room for the last sock (closest to the firewall), the AC line that runs really close, about 10mm..

IT was great evening to work with the car, when the most viewable things got done :)

Got the missing parts today, 90° pipeturn under FPR to make its install possible and missing 10cm of brakebooster pipe. Installed the ITB's for good, dropped few nuts while trying as usual, fitted brakeboost line and and incoming fuelline, also realized that I need to take motor lifting point away to give room for throttle to move. Still need to final tighten the bolts of ITB's before its done. With original intake under bolts where harder get to and in ITBs its top ones as theres so much things going on.

Next step will be creating mounting for FPR.

FPR found place and everything else is just about done. All it now needs is Subcon and I can start firing it up.

Cams in it arent original ones, these one have 9B1A printed on them. Dunno what they are, no one seems to know, so gotta believe that they´r Mazdaspeed´s.

Darn :D

It fires up for few sec's and then dies. Fuelpressure isnt there, after starting it just looses all the pressure and engine dies. Go figure..
But it for those few sec's it sounds SO good.

Rock on! Phoned few calls to friends and got adwise to jump the fuel pump to run all time and damn, it fire'd and ran.

Hesus IT IS LOUD ! :D

Gotta love the sound.. Now please, come spring and melt that 1.5 meter of snow away!
I'll try to get some sort video out of it soon.

Dunno why fuel pump dies when I release the key from starting position.
