Doe anyone know of a decent place I can trust my car to to check and weld the sills in south wales or bristol way, maybe as far a Birmingham? Got a little bubbling on the passenger sill and want it sorted before it gets expensive.

Cheers

I know a fabricator who done mine, he's based in iron acton, just outside yate/ bristol he doesn't do the painting though.

Really good job, all rot cut out and inner sill cut and cleaned up, treated and zinc primed inside and out.

you could run about with the zinc primer on like I did until you sort paint.

He could possibly paint but I can imagine you could get the same results yourself( I borrowed a compressor and got my old man to do it )

I'll try find his number for you tonight, it's on an old sim card but my old man drinks with him from time to time.

Pretty cheap and as said, fantastic job! he does classic cars and custom work mainly.

Get me that number as well, my rear arches have started to bubble a little. I'll wait for this coming winter to get out the way as it gives me more time to save, and I'd rather do it after winter than just before lol. Will have all mine done then and hopefully drop it into a local bodyshop down here for some exterior goodies :D

Tarnock's Garage, just outside Weston-super-Mare. Had mine done there last year. Not cheap but does a great job, his work shop is always full of old vintage Bentleys, triumphs etc which he is restoring and he has a mk2 accident damaged mx5 too which he has now restored, so he knows all about rust!!!

Mine was £900 for rear sills and arches but will depend how bad it is obviously.
